SFO to MANCHESTER with Virgin Atlantic (pt.1) VIDEO

What a charming little town!

My trip to Manchester was one of the best travel trips I’ve taken this year. In many ways, it went better than I could have ever imagined.

Kelly (@Asideofsweet) and I spent a few days there this past summer. Now we’re back and I figured I’d bring a little bit of Manchester your way.

We arrived on Thursday, checked in our hotel, dropped off our bags and… (in true CynEats fashion), we immediately went to a 6 course-meal.

All within 30 minutes.

No problem there because there’s really nothing better than flying with Virgin’s Upper Class Cabin. Needless to say, we were extremely well-rested despite the time difference.

Now before I really get into our Manchester adventures, I have to tell you guys about our flight…

We started off in the Virgin Atlantic club lounge at SFO, and we practically ordered the whole menu (shocker?). The burger and fries were unreal! Their current menu is a partnership with one of my favorite local spots in SF: Whitechapel SF.

So if you guys have time to kill next time you’re at the San Francisco International Airport, you can pay for a day pass to come in. You’ll get unlimited access to the menu and drinks, and its a great place to sit and recharge.

After we stuffed our faces to the brim, we had some cocktails while I flushed Asian glow (#NoPepcid)

Once we got to our seats on the plane, we were immediately treated to a warm towel and as many glasses of champagne as we could drink before take off.

After Kelly and I settled in, we were then invited to check out the cockpit! We were back there choppin’ it up with the pilots before takeoff. It was an incredible experience.

The flight itself was smooth, the service was first class and we were extremely well fed (obvi, the most important part lol). The coolest part was when our seats turn into beds!

If it weren’t for Virgin Atlantic, our trip to Manchester would have been off to a rocky start since our schedule was packed with activities for 4 days. A very special shout out to the Manchester Tourist Board for the amazing adventures and food recommendations.

More on our foodie adventures on my next Manchester post. Stay tuned!

I’m planning a trip to London with my husband next year but we wanted to also check out some other cities. He’s a huge Manchester United fan, so I’ll be checking back for your recommendations.
