Mr. Homles BakeHouse

  Posted by - December 19, 2014 - $ (0-20), Daytime, Restaurants, San Francisco

Honestly, I’ve been dying to tell you guys about Mr. Holmes Bakehouse (they’ve been open for less than a month)

But.

The past two times I’ve been here, nearly EVERYTHING was sold out. And I mean everything besides like 3 things.

So this time, I arrived at 9:30 am and was relieved (as shit) that:

  1. There was no line
  2. Everything was still available
  3. I was able to get some major food porn… I mean pics.

So anyway, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse is the new kid on the block (in tenderloin) and is killin it. If you don’t come here before noon, you’ll definitely be missing out on some serious MUST TRYS: like the tall, flakey, croissants baked in muffin tins that oozes out passion fruit curd.

It’s a hipster hole-in-the-wall with huge neon pink lights that say “I GOT BAKED IN SAN FRANCISCO.” There’s no seating, only a place to stand & take worthy Instagram pics.

It’s a flakey croissant stuffed with salmon, nori, ginger and wasabi. It’s served with a side of soy sauce.

I’m sure this would have been good if I got to try it…

Sooo…wana know the truth?

I was saving it for this shot:

Cool, right? LOL (maybe i’m just weird?)

While I got the photo…. I waited wayyyyyy too long to eat it. And then, the fish went bad (so point: learn from my mistakes and eat it right away!)

The calories are probably 1203985 x a million. But hey, sometimes you gotta live a little. Plus it’s SOOO worth it!

I’m hooked.

PS: since they just opened, I’d recommend going ASAP before the word gets out. Like, you should probably start walking/ barting/ driving now. You’ll thank me later.

The California croissant will become your immediate favorite savory pastry. Nothing close to it.
