If you’re looking for a hotel that HAS IT ALL, then look no further than the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa.
Forget a swimsuit? No Prob, they have tons of shops…even a Macy’s!
Craving an acai bowl or island coffee? They have a Honolulu coffee cafe on-site.
Looking for a swimming pool? They have SIX free-form pool areas with waterfalls, a 150’ lava tube waterslide, whirlpool, rope bridge, and an interactive kiddie pool for your little ones!
Even the lobby is filled with palm trees, colorful plants, and is completely open to the sky. The birds were chirping, the weather was warm, and we were immediately welcomed with a flower lei as we checked in.
FOOD:
One of the main reasons we were in Maui (with my BFF Kelly and my BF Craig) was to photograph and create content for their signature restaurant: Japengo.
For those of you who are new to my blog, I am a full-time photographer and I work with restaurants, hotels and brands to create content for their website, social media channels, digital and marketing materials.
Japengo’s menu is vast, serving up some of the most delectable sushi and cooked food items. They are rated #14 out of #150 restaurants on Trip Advisor, with a 4.5 star average and over 1,180 raving reviews from seafood lovers all over the world.
So whether you’re staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui or looking for a sweet spot to satisfy your Japanese cravings, be sure to dine at Japengo. You won’t be disappointed!
PS: go during their daily happy hour with live music :)
ROOMS
While the decor may be a bit dated, the rooms are extremely well maintained, and very spacious with its own living room area.
We had a comfy king size bed, large bathroom, and a balcony with a view that overlooked the pool.

AIf you end up booking a room at the Hyatt Regency Maui, ask for the room that over looks the pool!
GROTTO BAR
Down by the poolside and hidden between two waterfalls is the Grotto Bar. Kelly and I hid from the sun and went straight for a mai tai and few small bites. We also caught a glimpse of the Warriors game on their TVs!
LUAU
Lastly, if you’ve never been to a Luau, then check out Hyatt Regency’s Drums of the Pacific Luau. It’s an all-you-can eat buffet with a traditional imu ceremony that takes you on a journey throughout the islands of Polynesia. The night features authentic dances, live music, and a fire-knife dance finale. The buffet is filled with some of my favorites like the macadamia nut crust island fish, soba noodles, and the Kalua Pua’a roasted pork!
