Ambiance: The space is simple, clean & modern. They have super high ceilings, tons of natural lighting, and white and wooden walls. It’s literally the perfect place to get your work day started. By afternoon, this place looks like an Apple Genius Bar with Mac laptops all lined in a row (uhm guilty…)
Seats: 6 individual seats, 4 seats at the bar window, 2 long communal tables upstairs
Notes: This is a great spot for Instagram pics. They also serve Mr. Holmes Bakehouse pastries (if you haven’t tried it, you’re seriously missing out).
Coffee: The coffee is roasted, brewed, and pulled extremely well here. The baristas are super friendly and take the time to explain every item on the menu.
2340 Polk St
San Francisco, CA 94109 (b/t Union St & Green St in Russian Hill)
Ambiance: It’s the cutest, freshest & healthiest coffee shop on Fillmore that serves delicious lunch and homemade organic pastries.
Seats: Typical of San Francisco, they have a long & narrow layout accommodating about 6 people at the bar area and 8- 10 tables downstairs.
Notes: Laptops aren’t allowed during peak lunch hours (they get real busy), but they also have a section upstairs that’s laptop friendly all day. It’s perfect for those of you who want to spend a little extra time studying or looking over notes before a big meeting.
Coffee: They serve Stumptown Coffee and use all organic Straus dairy and organic soy products.
2123 Fillmore St
San Francisco, CA 94115 (b/t California St & Sacramento St in Pacific Heights)
Ambiance: If you like gorgeous spaces, fancy toast, and tons of natural lighting (for coffee pics) –> then this place is for you. Since I’m a sucker for all the above, i’m absolutely infatuated with The Mill.
Seats: There’s tons of open space here. You can either grab an individual seat by the wall, sit at the communal long table, or the tables by the big windows.
Notes: Their toast is made in-house by Josey Baker. While most people complain about the price, I think it’s totally worth a try. For $3.50 you get a THICK (delicious) piece of homemade bread with homemade toppings (ie. honey, almond butter, pumpkin butter, and other goodness). It’s literally that NEXT level toast… trust me.
Coffee: They serve Four Barrel Coffee with talented baristas who always make coffee art (major bonus points for my #CoffeePics)
Wifi: There’s no wifi here(<– love/hate). While they don’t have any wifi, I love coming here to grab a good cup of coffee with toast, sit by a window, and people watch while I work.
736 Divisadero St
San Francisco, CA 94117 (b/t Grove St & Fulton St in Alamo Square)
Ambiance: If you wana get shit done, Haus Coffee is your place. Come here with your laptop/ notebook and you’ll be good to go. It’s laid back, quiet, and peaceful with calm music playing in the background.
Basically, you can exist here peacefully without being disturbed. Think: Library voices.
Seats: There’s tons of seats inside with outlets. They also have an outdoor patio with plenty of open space. If you enjoy summer time SF weather, check this place out with a good book.
Coffee: They serve Ritual coffee, while the coffee is nothing spectacular, they’ve got FAST WIFI!
3086 24th St
San Francisco, CA 94110 (b/t Folsom St & Lucky St in Mission)
Ambiance: This place is pretty amazing and one of my FAVS. The ambiance is very industrial & hipster + service is always friendly. If my laptop didn’t need to be charged (no outlets), I could literally spend the whole afternoon here.
Seats: There’s seating both upstairs & downstairs- by the counter, by the big windows, by the communal tables, by the bar, by the seats overlooking the entire coffee shop.
Coffee: Their coffee is roasted right inside the shop. Another cool aspect of this place is that you can watch people roasting beans, bagging beans, and making coffee art.
Wifi: No wifi here, so you’ll actually have to enjoy this gorgeous space. Or you can people watch from either the big windows OR up on the 2nd floor. Plus, is it just me… or does no wifi also increase your productivity by only 10000%?
