This is exactly what you think it is.
That’s right.
A COCKTAIL WITH A FROZEN FRUIT BAR.
If there was a cocktail made for summer, this is it.
I’ve been making these with my roommates for years during my college days at SDSU. We’d casually sip on one (virgin) while we sat by the pool and finished reading the entire Twilight series during spring break #TheresAnIceCreamForThat ;)
Fast forward to last summer in New York, I was shocked when I found out that $25 spiked poptail’s were all the rage on Instagram at this roof top bar in West Village.
Normally, I couldn’t care less about this. But this bar was charging $25 dollars for a mediocre, watered-down cocktail – not even the good stuff made with real fruit!
No joke, my cocktail is WAYYY better and I’d be doing you guys a disservice if I didn’t share.
To make this drink, you NEED the right kind of fruit bar- not ones made with artificial flavoring “from concentrate.”
You know, ones with real fruit. It’s a necessity to give it that extra flair.
Here’s what you need:
Ingredients: Mint, Vodka, 1 Lime, 1 bottle Soda Water, Watermelon Outshine Fruit Bar
(You can save $2 when you buy 3 or more Outshine or other Nestlé ice cream products. Get the offer HERE)
Instructions:
- Fill up cup with ice
- Pour 1 shot of vodka
- Cut and squeeze lime juice into cup
- Fill your glass with soda water
- Add Watermelon Outshine Fruit Bar
- Garnish with mint and enjoy!
It’s so perfect for summer because it’s really easy to make, light and refreshing as hell.
And here’s the thing about this drink, you can make it with alcohol or without (just skip the vodka!)
Cheers!
