Press Club: a wine and cheese kinda night

Super classy, ultra modern, and super chic.

I’m absolutely in love with this swanky wine bar/lounge in the heart of San Francisco’s Union Square.

When one of my girlfriends came to visit this past Friday, I just had took her to Press Club to start our girl’s night out.

As soon as you enter, you descend down a curved flight of stairs with empty wine bottles artfully displayed against the walls. As you walk pass the live DJ, you’ll see a massive dimly lit space with three different bars, lounges, and high table tops filled with beautiful people in their work clothes, suits, pre-going out outfits, and mostly working professionals.

They have a wide selections of reds, whites, and the ever-sweet dessert wines.

If you’re a novice in the wine department like I am, I’d recommend trying one of their flights (3 diff wines) to get a true sampling. If you love the reds, I’d start off with a flight of “Just Pinot Noir” and if you’re a fan of whites, try the “Sweet Progression.”

But no matter what you do, be sure to pair your wines with their appetizers and cheeses. I’ve never truly been a wine and cheese fan until I’ve tried their cheese platter–> you can choose from any four on their menu ($30).

With their trendy décor, awesome service, and super fun atmosphere, the selections of drinks are aligned with what you would expect to pay to be here.

And don’t worry if you’re not much of a wine connoisseur, they’ve also got a really nice selection of beers on tap- and it’s a fun environment to people watch too. Check out the peeps behind us ( I swear, most people were dressed better).

Love this place! I always come here with some co-workers after work. They’ve got a great happy hour menu too.
