I’m ENGAGED!!

  Posted by - August 23, 2019 - Uncategorized

Well hello.

Today I’m going to tell you my engagement story + everything leading up to the proposal.  And to answer your question- I had no F’ing idea!!

Craig always makes me feel like the luckiest girl alive and he’s SO good with surprises. Me, on the other hand… not so much. Most of the time, he knows what I want before I know what I want! Not only is he my best friend, he’s my soulmate and partner in crime.

I’m also THE most oblivious person in the world. I didn’t think it would happen on this Cabo trip because May 2019 was one of the busiest months of our lives.

Imagine this: we were moving to LA three days after we got back from Cabo, we flew to Thailand and Laos four days after moving to LA, we flew to Vegas for a work trip the weekend after we get back from Asia, and I signed on two new clients among taking on other exciting projects. So yah, life has been crazy to say the least.

The funny thing is, with all this going on… I was debating whether or not we should move our Cabo trip to a later date when life settles down a little. HAH! Can you imagine the reaction on Craig’s face when I suggested that every week leading up to Cabo?

Little did I know… he contacted the resort we were staying at and started planning MONTHS AGO. He had a whole itinerary laid out and worked with them to make sure everything was perfect.

Upon arrival, Grand Velas welcomed us with champagne in the lobby as we enjoyed the view on the terrace.

We proceeded to our suite (Grand Class Suite Ocean Front room) where they dropped off our bags and helped us open the sliding doors that led to our balcony overlooking the ocean. I wish words or photos could describe how grand, beautiful and serene this suite is, but only videos can do this room justice. Check it out on my IG story highlights titled “proposal” to get the visuals!

THURSDAY

The first day at the resort was amazing (for me at least). Craig was a huge stress ball but he did a good job hiding it. After we checked in, we immediately got into our bathing suits and went down to the pool. Oh, and did I mention everything at this resort is ALL-INCLUSIVE?! Room service, drinks, breakfast, poolside service… ugh I was in heaven.

We immediately ordered drinks and snacks. My drink of the week was a mint mojito with vodka (I’m allergic to tequila, would would have been my alcohol of choice).

After we had a few drinks and snacks, we headed to dinner at one of the resort’s 7 high-end restaurants. Our choices ranged from authentic French cuisine, Italian, Mexican- or dinner at a restaurant led by a TWO star Michelin chef (Sidney Schutte) serving up a 10-course tasting menu at Cocina de Autor.

…. if you know me by now (or followed my stories), you already know that I chose the latter ;)

Our entire meal was totally unexpected and we were blown away at the creativity and attention to detail given to each dish. It was pure art on a plate! A meal like this would have costed $150-$170 per person back in San Francisco! But since the resort is all-inclusive, we didn’t have pay a dime besides leave a generous tip for the 5-star service we received all night.

THE PROPOSAL

The next morning (Friday) was the BIG day. All I had on the itinerary was massages at 1pm and a sunset boat tour at 5pm.

Little did I know… Craig flew out my best friends and my videographer to capture the big moment. Side note: our friends all stayed (aka hid) at our hotel’s sister property which was right next door!

Now get this…

Anh (our videographer) was suppose to fly in on Thursday afternoon. But he MISSED HIS FLIGHT, and had to fly in Friday morning (ahem: day of the proposal). He had to land, check in, and hide on the boat all before 4:30pm without any delays. (Lol- stressful)

So while Craig is stressed and trying to figure out Anh’s missed flight…

I’m over here like:

Living my best life haha

{ On a total side note… can we just take a moment to admire these lashes! Shoutout to @Projectglow.Love for always giving me the best lashes before my trips!! I can’t believe how good they still look after I’ve been running them through the water).

Okay, where was I?

Oh yah. The massages.

This is what Craig looked like right before our 60 minute massage.

whooooo-saaaaaa!

After 60 minutes of pure bliss for me, we go back to our room to get ready. I put on some cute accessories, including a gold RING on my ring finger- something that I rarely ever do 😂🙈.

The hotel set us up with a car to take us to the dock, where our captain came to meet us. My immediate thought was… “HOLY COW this boat is giant!”

Side note: I’ve had a few friends stay at this resort a few months ago and they also went on a sunset cruise- which is why I didn’t think it was anything out of the ordinary! Just that the boat was extra big.

Little did I know, the Grand Velas helped put Craig in touch with a Yacht company and gave everyone on deck the heads up.

Once we got on the boat, we set sail for the famous arch. When it was time, Craig walked me over to the front.

He grabbed my hands and began his speech…. he said that the universe brought us together and that we’re soulmates. Craig said a few more things, but I think I blacked out. He asked me to marry him, and I said “YEAH”

Then I saw our friends come out from the sides. I was shook. It all felt so surreal.

Magical.

To have all my besties there celebrating with me was a moment I will never forget.

It’s now been a few months since we got engaged and it feels magical still. I can’t believe this perfect man asked me to marry him!! Watch the whole thing unfold on Craig’s IGTV!

Thank you to everyone who made this day extra special.

To our resort- Grand Velas, THANK YOU for an unforgettable experience. From picking us up from the airport, to a smooth check in, to all the incredible meals and little touches, your staff really went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. Your resort will always have a special place in my heart! Not to mention the property is drop dead gorgeous, and THE FOOD is amazing all around!

To Padis Jewelry– Steve, Judy and Alexis- Thank you for making Craig’s vision come to life when he designed the ring. It’s the prettiest ring I’ve ever seen and I can’t believe it’s on my finger. You guys really went above and beyond. It’s perfect!

To my best friends- Thank you all for making it out to Cabo. You guys all made our moment extra special and I’m so happy we got to spend the weekend getting wasted and celebrating together.

To my fiancé- I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you!! Thanks for making me the luckiest girl in the world.
