Life for me as been pretty busy. Crazy, even.
Over the past year, I’ve moved THREE times! Who moves three times in a year??? I do.
Not because of anything crazy, but because life happens.
My boyfriend and I were doing long distance for a year. He was living in LA and I was living in SF. When his lease was up, it was only natural that he moved up for me…. right babe? ;)
With majority of my business being in San Francisco, Craig decided that it was best if he moved up to SF. Luckily, he can work from anywhere in the world. All he needs is a good wifi connection, a laptop… and ME (duh, lol).
OK- back to my living situation. For the past year, I’ve been living with roommates and close friends.
Kelly (asideofsweet) was my first “blogger” roommate of 2017 and she’s now my BFF. Monday through Friday, we would turn our living room into our photo studio. At night, she’d teach me basic life cooking skills…. like: “how to cut veggies” and “which knife to use?” hah. We’d also go on epic blogger trips together- London, Manchester, Arizona and Hong Kong.
Allie (@allie.eats) was my 2nd roomie. I moved in with her in October 2017. Together, we’d make a mess all over the house, watch David Blane on Netflix. She’d feed me veggies (she doesn’t eat meat), and I’d feed her mochi ice cream and pie… I clearly got the short end of the stick.
We’d only been living together for 5 months before Craig’s lease was up in sunny LA.
Moving into an already furnished place was pretty AWESOME because I didn’t need to buy new furniture.
The only downside was that I couldn’t decorate the way I WANTED to decorate. Couldn’t paint the walls, couldn’t hang up pictures- you get the point. So now, having a place where I can call my own- is wonderful.
We moved in on February 1st. And it look us 1.5 months to have our housewarming party. Not because our place wasn’t ready- but because we’ve both been so busy with work.
Plus, I wanted my first house warming party to be done RIGHT.
You know… with good vibes, positive, vibrant energy with delicious food and wine.
You can watch the craziness of my day HERE. But I wanted to break it down for you even further.
Wine + Cake+ Cheese + Charcuterie + Pizza
= Very CYNEATS style
(No cooking necessary)
So first off, lets talk about the wine. Because the type of alcohol you have at a party really sets the mood and tone of the night.
I decided to go with a colorful Spanish wine called Campo Viejo.
When I read their philosophy, I was instantly inspired. They believe in living “life uncorked.” Meaning, living a life that is full of expression and passion. I had all sorts of bottles ranging from a 2011 Gran Reserve to a 2015 Rioja.
To pair with the wines, I had many different types of meats, cheeses, jams, crackers and fruits from Cheese Plus (a neightborhood gem on Polk Street). They were able to help me make the most epic cheese platter- everything from a light black truffle brie to a heavy goat cheese from Switzerland.
It was fun watching everyone taste test all the different cheese and wine combos.
As a general rule of thumb, you want to pair wines and cheeses with equal intensity.
For dessert, I had a french mille crepe cake from Anton Patisserie. The attention to detail in every layer of these cakes do not go unnoticed. Every bite is light, airy, and fluffy.
(BTW have you entered my give away yet??- I’m giving away this latest new flavor: black sesame with goji berries and blue berries. Enter HERE!)
Now for the main course- PIZZA! Duh. I mean, how can you go wrong with a slice from 12-time world pizza champion: Tony Gemignani. Slice house is right down the block from me in SOMA and is becoming a weekly staple.

Now I’m off editing while watching re-runs of Friends. Anyone else still obsessed with this show in 2018??
XOXO,
Cyn
