2019 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

  Posted by - December 20, 2018 - Uncategorized

Life has been a bit crazy over here.

How is it almost 2019? Where did the year go!

After working closely with Wente Vineyards this year and their #MakeTime campaign, I realized that I’m a bittttttt of a workaholic.

Rather than going to happy hours with friends, I’d rather stay home and work on my brand.

Rather than going to the movies (or watching a movie at home), I’d rather watch YouTube tutorials on video editing.

Rather than listening to music, I’d rather listen to podcasts on how to grow my business.

But I don’t consider all these things “work” because I love doing it so much.

My life is very much go-go-go and sometimes I forget to slow down.

To take a moment and let it all sink in.

I’m sharing this with you all not to brag about how much I work, but to showcase how I started to feel burnt out earlier this year. It’s made me realize how important it is to make time for myself, loved ones and friends.

BOYFRIEND

When Craig and I are at home, we both sit at our work areas (him on the couch) and I on my Thunderbolt. We’ll go hours sitting, typing away, each working on our own businesses and only speaking when I tell him how hungry I am… or when we bounce ideas off each other.

We’re also starting a new company together (stay tuned!), so now, we both would rather stay at home and work till 1am than go out for date night.

I know, I know… we probably sound really lame.  Lol.

Resolution: We’re going to make a strong effort to close our laptops by 11pm (we’ll see how that goes!) and force ourselves to go out for date night.

FRIENDS

My friends and I are all so busy that if we don’t schedule a date to hang out 2 months in advance- then it may never happen! This past month, we had a much needed girls staycation at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. The last time Kelly, Ally and I were all together was back in February! Can you believe it??

Resolution: I’m reaching out to all my friends and setting up lunch/dinner dates into the next year.

FAMILY

This year, I really wanted to make an effort to put family first. I flew my parents out to Hong Kong and Japan back in April and they both had the most amazing time (the last time we were in HK as a family was over 10 years ago!).

I also took my brother, Dad and Craig to Wente Vineyards where we played a round of golf and had the most incredible experience wine tasting in caves.

Peep the video here:

Anyways, the reason I’m writing this post is because I think Wente Vineyards’s “Make Time” initiative is an incredible campaign. I hope either this blog post or their video inspires you all to make time for the people you love.

Have you guys started thinking about your New Year’s Resolutions yet? I’d love to know what you are committing to in 2019!
